Note:: In attempts to make it more cannon, I have downgraded the rank of Pope to Cardinal Bishop. I figure logically, Maxwell still far too young to even be considered, non-plot-wise, to be a candidate for the role of Pope but that of a Cardinal Bishop at least. I decided to keep the rank though, mainly because I am attempting to link some of the character traits up with Cardinal Rodrigo de Lanzòl-Borgia.

If I have not gotten the Catholic Ranking correct (it's quite a difficult subject to understand), here is the link that I used as a reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardinal_%28Catholicism%29. To my understanding, when Enrico became Arch-Bishop on the battlefield of London England 1999, it was a form of rank as a Cardinal in the Catholic Church. If it needs any correcting, please let me know... mainly because it is quite puzzling to me.

Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing? If so how far have you gotten? If not please direct your attention to youtube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least. Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga. The anime is not canon. This is not our opinion. This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano.
Manga: 1 - 9
Anime: 1 - 13
OVA: 0 (and shall remain that way until I buy them on DVD with my own hard earned cash.)

Name:
Enrico Maxwell

Sex:
Male

Age:
Twenty-nine

Clothes: Cardinal Dress Reference
When in the role of Cardinal-Bishop, he will ware a fitted cassock of black, a fascia of scarlet red, and the cassock trimmed in the scarlet red. Also, while seated in as an Cardinal-Bishop in The College of Cardinals, the dressing cassock has to be completely scarlet red with a shoulder cape to match.

Maxwell will down black slacks, comfortable Italian leather shoes, and black jacket (or vest). He will even wear a long black robe (cassock) with thirty-three golden buttons lining the arms and all the way down the front (symbolic of the years of the life of Jesus) along with a long sleeved white in color and made of Egyptian cotton or silk shirt. The shirts, jackets, and vest are fashioned in a way to make his shoulders look wider than what they normally are. The long black Cassock, on the other hand, not so much.

Black Cassock
Spoiler:

Vest Fashion
Spoiler:

What is always present is a white priest collar, his cross that is silver and finely crafted, signature long stole (looks like a scarf) to signify his status as Cardinal Alexander-Maxwell I, and his fitted white gloves always bare the unmistakable gold embroider cross upon them both.

Maxwell shall, on occasion, wear his glasses (suggesting that Maxwell is near sighted), reading glasses, sun glasses given the weather, and under stressful circumstances, have a cigarette between his teeth. The smoking, on the other hand, is something no one shall ever see.

Race:
Human
Ethnicity: Roman Catholic Italian

Appearance:
Maxwells’ hair is ice blond, tinted slightly darker than Integra Hellsings’ own hair. It carries an inherited natural wave to it and is extremely long for a man; reaching mid back on his body type. He always has it tied back; making the top of his head appear slick and smooth, before his hair fans out into the natural waves.

His face is long, and quite angular with a long jaw, narrowed chin, and high cheekbones. His nose is also long and sharply pointed as his forehead is high and brows are slim angled. His eyes are an off blue, appearing to be violet in some light while his eye size differs from every reaction he gives.

Maxwell carries himself proudly; his shoulders are always set back, his back straight, his chin always held high. He stands just shy of six foot two inches, and has long arms and legs. Elegant in appearance, he appears to have little muscle structure as he makes up the bronze with brains.

Being as Maxwell uses hand gestures often, his fingers appear long, skinny, and almost bone-like. He is also quite tall and slim with long arms, legs, and torso for a human male. Though, it is stressed that he is not as tall as the ace cards of Millennium, Iscariot, and Hellsing. In fact, Maxwell is almost a head shorter than Anderson.

Organization:
Assassin Judas, Iscariot, Section XIII Organization.
(For centuries it has been known that the Vatican and Catholic Church have organized in secret to deal with threats of the occult, heathens and monsters, those who have risen to wreak chaos and havoc upon those unsuspecting and innocent. The answers to these upheavals have come in the form of the Vatican’s elite Iscariot Order Section XIII. While bureaucratically the Iscariot’s are allies of the Hellsing Organization, believing in the protection of the English people, on the battlefield, the Knights of Iscariot are a fearsome and powerful force to be reckoned with, and their way of justice may not always be set by following the rules.)

Rank:
Cardinal Alexander-Maxwell I (after Alexander VI, originally Rodrigo de Lanzòl-Borgia [born January 1431, died 18 August 1503, Pope from 1492 - 1503], for Lanzòl-Borgia's brutality within the Catholic Church, Maxwell for his trademark name) of The Catholic Church, Head Director and Chief of Assassin Judas, Iscariot Section XIII Organization.

Weapons:
Maxwell never fights hand to hand. He has no weapon on his person at all. Maxwell leaves physical fights up to his men, body guards, and Anderson.

Abilities:
Maxwell is a skilled diplomat; he will use words, law, and detailed research above everything else to achieve that in which he wants. Maxwell is also highly educated, having been born in Italy into a rich house. From this, he is an expert on European history, European art, religion, and knows the following languages, his native tongue being Italian: English, Latin, French and Spanish. All of these things have and where obtained by harsh dedication to his own personal education as well as from the education of the Catholic Church.

Character Traits:
The way in which Maxwell carries himself is proud; his stature demanding to be noticed at all times. He can be quite polite and a gentlemen... at times when he sees it might benefit himself and the organization. But when that form of action is no longer effective, all bets are off and he will get brutal. In diplomatic situations though, his brutal methods will never come out in public or at a formal meeting of more than one person and himself.

He hates failure, as the word itself is something he will never relate himself to. He is often described as a power hungry, drunkard; always demanding the best of himself, the best from everyone in the organization, and shall therefore, do anything and everything to achieve power along with the best of the best in everything, for anything and with everything he has to his disposal... IE, he can be quite clever and sneaky.

Compulsively selfish, Maxwell's only goal is to have that in which all men want; success. Maxwell thrives to see his enemies squirm under pressure (by a whole rapid river of evidence found in documents, or physical pressure from his body guards). It is also the same for the people Maxwell has accused of numerous acts of treason; he absolutely lives on an accused mans suffering.

With characteristics of a manipulator, it is never his fault, though always another persons fault (IE, the God Factor). He will always admit others defeat instead of his own; always finding a way in which to blame another persons actions for his mistakes, rather than his own actions in which the mistake was at his fault. With that being said, Maxwell speaks poetically with his hands; making graceful gestures when needed and speaks smoothly so as to no one miss any point he is going to make.

Maxwell is a man that has always been greedy at heart. He strives to surround himself in elegant beauty as well as knowledge. So naturally, he has collected many artifacts and documents from around the world, using other sections (such as 'Mattai' Matthew, Section III) from the church to do so, adding many things to his personal collection.

With this, it is commonly known that Maxwell is highly disorganized. When it comes to papers and documents, on occasion, Maxwell will loose his work in a heaping pile of papers he was reading for his own personal enjoyment, or personal research. He takes much of his research from the Catholic vaults, located under The Vatican.

Wholeheartedly dedicated to the church, Maxwell longs to make the church more powerful, blurring the fine line between genius and insanity. His aim is so great for this that he has killed and black mailed in the past. Those unfortunate victims, being those who have aimed to destroy himself, the church, and organization have died painfully or have paid a healthy amount of money to the church, Maxwell himself, and the organization.

Having 'earned' his role as The Cardinal Alexander-Maxwell I, it only made his ego grow larger. He now has full control over The Churches Armies as well as limitless followers, funds, and countries. As power hungry as it may be, he always had wanted to rise from what he had when he was younger. Such a motivation is unclear and described as above, but it is suggested that Maxwell only wanted to prove all those who doubted him (mainly his biological father and his fathers wife) wrong, look down upon them, and has done so, so far.

Enrico believes the Roman Catholic faith to be superior. Thus, despite being allied to Hellsing and England, Maxwell often breaks border jurisdiction treaties and finds himself and his Order at odds with Hellsing. These skirmishes often result in the deaths of innocent human bystanders. As such, when word of vampire movement in North Ireland is relayed to him, he is quick to dispatch his most expert agent to quell the uprising.

::Others::
Maxwell has a few biological ticks. Such ticks are simple such as a twitch of the left eye, a twitch to the mouth, a simple leg jerk, a twitch of his fingers, grinding of the teeth, twitching of the jaw, high amounts of coffee intake, little sleep, paranoia, drooling from sleeping with his mouth open, and on occasion, sudden outbursts of anger. All can be concluded to high amounts of stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

As for the sudden out bursts of anger, it suggests that from a small head trauma back in December of 1999, London England, there was an accident where the vehicle in which Maxwell occupied was dropped into a hoard of the undead, Maxwell receiving a smack to the head. This suggests it has caused Maxwell to be highly paranoid, more of an insomniac, and for a few more of the biological ticks he may have.

Bio: Note:: As for the part about Exorcisms, the idea clicked when I watched The Rite, a few nights ago again and figured it would be a logical way to have the Cannon emerge himself into the Undead World.
He was the son of a mistress, thus a bastard in his fathers home, which was a family of rich, Catholic, blue blooded Italians. Being the first and only son thus far for his father, instead of dropping Enrico off at the closest orphanage upon birth, Enrico's father kept him around for a few years. Hidden from sight most of the time from the family, Enrico grew up with privet tutors who taught him excellently in the subjects of history, geography, Latin, and mathematics.

By the time Enrico was a young boy, he became quite clever and could outwit most people in a game of chess (as an example). He often socialized with the adult servants and not their children. More or less, Enrico could be found deep in a book instead of outside playing. By the time Enrico was six, his father's wife had convinced the family that Enrico should not be among them at all. Having realized this, Enrico started to become devious, non-social, and carried hate in his heart for his own blood and flesh. When he discovered that they did not want him, he decided that he did not need them. Sadly, he carried that hate inside of him all the way unto adulthood.

Around a year later when Enrico was eight, a Catholic Priest had come along to take Enrico away. Little did the priest know that Enrico decided what exactly he was going to aim for, for the rest of his life. The young boy wanted his family to regret having tossed him away; even though he was indeed a bastard and had no rights in the house.

A few days later, Enrico was at his new home; an Orphanage just outside of Rome. There, he was not social for the first few months. He kept to himself until the same Catholic Priest, who Enrico learned was called Father Anderson spoke to him one sunny afternoon. While the other children played innocently, Enrico stood staring down the paved road and past the orphanages gates. "I will become great one day teacher! You shall see," he vowed to Anderson, who had displayed a hard frown when Enrico spoke this... but Enrico no longer cared; he was going to get what he wanted, and will be the best of the best.

A few years went on before Enrico finally befriended two younger children: Heinkel and Yumie. Among those two children, who he viewed for quite some time as just followers to his silent tactic of ideal leadership, Father Anderson also became someone he trusted dearly. Anderson was no longer just a priest or teacher, but somewhat of a role model. Enrico saw that the man could work though tough situations, and often had sound logic and philosophical meaning behind the debates that both Enrico and Anderson would engage in.

When Enrico became a young teenager, he became fascinated with the art of Exorcism [(from Late Latin exorcismus, from Greek ἐξορκισμός, exorkismos - "binding by oath") is the religious practice of evicting demons or other spiritual entities from a person or place which they are believed to have possessed], having done a project on it in Catholic Religion class in the orphanage.

He first applied to the school of Exorcism at the age of fifteen and was denied entry thanks to his age. Enrico was then driven by this to work harder in all of his classes, becoming more devoted to his religion classes, Latin, English, and privet study of Exorcism. A Cardinal saw such raw devotion having sat in on one of Anderson's classes. On that fateful day, Enrico trumped all of his fellow students in a critical discussion of Heaven and Hell when Enrico turned the topic around; classifying many different types of demons in under three hours and how exactly they worked with a troubled soul.

Against Anderson's protesting, Enrico was admitted into the privet school of Exorcism in Rome at the age of seventeen. From that first day in class, he soared to the top of his class swiftly compared to those who had been studying for years.

At the time, Father Renaldo was the head director of the school. By the time Enrico was eighteen, he was allowed to go and witness firsthand exorcisms taking place rather than on the screens in the Catholic classrooms. Oddly, Enrico's first field experience was with Anderson and Renaldo on a young girl at her place of residence.

Upon entering the residence, instead of finding a possessed human-being, the two priests and student in training came across a different creature. Enrico was tossed into a corner while Anderson and Renaldo destroyed ghouls and the vampire. For the first time in his life, Enrico witnessed the brutality of his teachers Anderson and Renaldo. Anderson and Renaldo determined that the young girl was merely a puppet used by the vampire after the vampire admitted, before death, that he was using the idea of possessed humans to bait Catholic priests into his trap to kill them. This in turn explained most of the recent priests deaths that had happened on the countryside.

At first, most of it was a blur to Enrico. Anderson and Renaldo thought that the state of shock Enrico was in would make him forget all about the event in which he witnessed... but no. It only made Enrico thirsty for more information a few weeks later.

"I see that there's more than possessions of the spirit," Enrico said to Renaldo after a class. "There are those of the flesh as well." Enrico sneered slightly after this, realizing that there was indeed more than what meets the eye. "But it would seem that the possession of the soul is child's play compared to that of the flesh."

Renaldo nodded to this. "What have you learned so far?"

Enrico then went into detail about his theory of what was known as vampires fearlessly. He held no information in which he had gathered in only a few weeks back. "In the name of God and Mother Mary, these creatures, these... demons of the flesh have no right to walk amongst the Children Of Heaven," Enrico then said.

"His Holiness would be impressed by this," Renaldo said. Enrico did not know of Iscariot at the time, or the fact that the head director of Iscariot, the same Cardinal that saw the potential of Enrico at the age of sixteen, was near death from terminal cancer. Ironically, Enrico was chosen from a young age and it was 'seen as the will of God,' from that Cardinal.

After graduating at the age of eighteen from the privet school of Exorcism, Enrico started his training as the Co-head director of Iscariot from the sick Cardinal that first discovered him. After five years of training; learning the in's and outs of the organization, church, and other organizations funded by the church, the Cardinal that first saw the young boy in Anderson's classroom for the first time, died in his sleep.

No longer Co-Director of Iscariot, Enrico Maxwell became head director at the age of twenty-three. Though the Cardinal never did know that Enrico had other motives behind his logic in running Iscariot.

About two years went by before he established contact with his organization and Hellsing, renewing the treaties and Iscariot's jurisdiction in his own little way; Enrico's dirty justification being, "The Hellsing Organization is too low funded, undermanned, and unable to cover all of these areas." This was merely a few days before Anderson's and Alucard's battle in Scotland.

A few more months went by and Hellsing was attacked by Millennium viva the Valentine Brothers, Luke and Jan. Enrico took this opportunity to share one of his organizations top secret files with Hellsing at a museum... and that was that Iscariot funded the hiding of a Nazi organization simply known as Millennium, which was funded by Hitler in the experimentation of the FREAK chips back in the 1930's. His hopes where to intimidate... therefore in which Integra Hellsing started to move her top garbage men around the globe.

In short, he underestimated Hellsing's trump card in December of 1999 with the attack on London England. Enrico had hope on that night to not just destroy Millennium, but also all of the Protestants in the United Kingdom. Though disappointingly, Alucard had arrived in London at the hour in which The Corpo di Padre Armato and The 9th Division Crusaders where in full battle with Millennium's Freaks.

An Arch-Bishop for only a few hours, most of The Corpo di Padre Armato and The 9th Division Crusaders where lost in mere minutes when faced with Alucard's army... most of Enrico's forces dead or dying after the blow. The chopper in which Enrico's own form of a protective glass was suspended was hit with an ground to air missile. Enrico's protective case hit the ground, but never shattered. What was left of The Corpo di Padre Armato, which included Yumie and Heinkel, rescued Enrico and ushered him to safety before he could be killed.

Months went by before Enrico was able to show himself publicly. He accepted the rank of Cardinal-Bishop at the age of twenty-nine as a representative to Iscariot in The College Of Cardinals, that Cardinal also dying mysteriously and the other Cardinals voted unanimously for Enrico to take his place.

RP Sample:
-Early Age-
He had locked himself in his father's office again…. or rather he was put there by his father. 'Read something,' his father had told him. He agreed wisely, and pulled a thick book from one of the taller shelves, reading it. Like his father, Enrico enjoyed art and the symbolism behind a lot of it. He wanted to become an artiest like his father one day: a great artist who painted kings with fine, expensive oils.

What little Enrico did not understand was that his father's wealth was handed to him at a young age. Mr. Maxwell had painted as a hobby, knew how to manage money extremely well, and wrote a book or two on money making schemes. Enrico hadn't found those books yet, thankfully. Ignorance can be blissful but then reality will smack you one day.

This is somewhat what Enirco's day was like. His nanny would take care of him, and then he would take care of himself, drawing on spare paper, reading, eating, and sleeping. This is all he did, and even at his young age he was still extremely pale like an albino but he was not. He had hardly any pigment in his skin, but then living at the top of the boot country, where there was little heat like there was south, might have also had something to do with it. Nevertheless, he would go through this daily, and once and a while, play chess against one of the servants. He won all the time and he knew they were not really trying.

His intelligence alone at this age was sharp. He was no longer reading picture books at the age of eight. He was deep into books that were thicker, his reading level that of an average seventeen year old in school, yet he never went to school. He was home-schooled and self taught mostly. His older half sister was once forced to teach him something which he already knew.

It was so uncomfortable for her and he could see that. They had the same eye color almost and nose shape, but that was it. Was it multiplication? Or Division? He could not remember, but all he could remember was how she sneered at him a few times, and looked down at him. When their father walked into the room, she looked all the more livid with him than Enrico and it was the same with his stepmother: she had the same tendency to look down at him or not at him at all. She would talk about him as if he was not there in the room with them. After last year of all this happening, he saw things differently and started to try and avoid all around him except his father. It seemed like his father loved him.

His father he could talk to. It had always been like that till recently. His father was growing distant each passing month. It surprised him slightly, but he only watched as his father went on, telling him to stay in certain places and wait and he knew that this was the last time he would do this. It had to of been because his own father did not even look at him when he told him to read again.

Strangely, little Enrico hardly reacted to this. He knew he was the son of a mistress, and he a bastard. He had no rights in this house. He was nothing in this house. He accepted it even though he hated it.

A servant girl came into the office. Enrico was seated in a seat before the desk, reading up on art painted by Michelangelo as his pale gaze rose to her and he held a smile.

"Good evening little master!" she said with a wave and walked over. "Your Papa wants to see you and I am going to take you to him," she said, leaning slightly on the chair. Enrico nodded and set the book aside. The servant snatched up his hand and walked him to the entrance room.

His father was standing there, his wife as well. Once she saw Enrico her dark gaze shot to the second man standing in the room and she moved away from his father. His father held a small smile at Enrico.

"Enrico, Nanny needs a breather and we are going away for a few days. Father Anderson will take care of you those days at his…. Home," he said. From his sentence, Enrico knew that this mans home was not really a home. When his son was before him, Enrico father keeled and his stepmother flinched, looking farther away. "We'll be back for you in a few days. We will pick you up."

How can he keep his face like a stone and lie to me? Enirco wondered as he nodded at his father who then stood, addressing Father Anderson who had a clean shave, a scar on his left cheek running to his jaw and he's got kind green eyes.

"Aye Mr. Maxwell. Ah'll watch over 'im," Father Anderson then looked to the small Enrico. "C'mon Enrico," and he held out his hand. Enrico took it and walked with father Anderson out the door.

Though Father Anderson did not catch it, Enrico looked over his shoulder and glared a stare that made his stepmother shake when she saw it, and his father shift his weight around on his feet…. He knew they had left him. He knew they would never retrieve him from this new place. He didn't even care at the moment if he died by the hands of this man; his stare would live on if he died young…
