After much discussion with Staff, we have came up with a new idea that we're going to try called Fog of War. Here's what it does.
Fog of War: In order for any members to have knowledge of current events including major structural damage and/or conflict, the events must occur in designated areas. These areas will have a note in their description that they are at high risk for visibility by civilians and all characters can gain knowledge of the location of anyone in these areas by a simple post acknowledging this mechanic.
In layman's terms, if a character posts in a certain category, London for example, that character's location in London is publicly available for while they're in London until they go to an area where Fog of War applies. The areas that have the Fog will be updated so that it shows in the description. with a tag *Fog of War*. Any posts that are made in those threads with the tag will have their location revealed. We will be trying this out for a little while and if it turns out to be a problem, we can discuss different options. Keep your eyes peeled because other new things are on their way.
