Idea for the new website you're making!

Wassup Alucard, and all other admins/mods as well of course!

I've been exploring the forums and reading up to catch up on events, etc...
And I had this idea when I was cruising in the London section. I noticed that people sometimes start threads with specific locations, and not just in the London section but also in other sections like the mansions and the other organizations, etc...

I think that is a great idea to keep the forums organized to keep threads like that. Per example in the mansion people can start threads to represent their bedrooms and whenever they rp in their rooms they can use that specific threads instead of making a new one over and over. It keeps the forums tidy!

The same can be done with London locations like per example Hellsing's favorite restaurant that most members go to. Or area's like the shopping centers or docks, etc...

And in the first posts of those threads should always be a description of what the location looks like, what's the ambiance, etc... It helps people visualize their setting a lot better and prevents from contradicting each other. Cause one person may view a restaurant different than the other if they're fictional locations.

I'm not saying you should create a bunch of them in advance when the new site is up. But to have a few standard locations for the mansion might be nice. :3

That can be done easily enough. Thanks for the advice. I'll get to that possibly tomorrow, if not within the next few days.

I think we should have the ability to merge an account with another if you have one, you can switch between them without having to sign in n out and it would make it easier.


Also I think we should also be able to use the same email with multiple accounts.

We've talked about this idea in great detail before actually. It's definitely planned. Just a lot more code to input before that can be done.

Proboards v5 already has such features, going from (in v4 and prior) crappy interface and awkward controls, to making switching between characters as easy as TWO CLICKS from ANYWHERE on the board (amidst making a post? Save a draft, click the icon to the bottom right, click your character, BAM! you're back on the page, as the new chadacter)

Of course, we can probably make due using Sceditor scripts for our posts, and a series of mods and board hacks for most (if not all) of the features we want.

But Proboards already has it all, doesn't it?

Actually, for what I have in mind, proboards will not be able to complete that request. Proboards is still a part of the same group so their UI has limitations. Some of these features are there but a large part of what is on my list is not possible by them. Aside from that, the html and javascript still is fixed to phpbb coding which is shit for more complex features. It's great for forums which is fine but if you wanna add some more complex things like automated character sheet specifications and an easier voting system, the capability is limited at best. I am also working on making something that would basically make us into our own forumotion and proboards group where all of the current rpg community could operate under one banner. The idea is that if there is enough people that want an rpg based off a particular anime, ideas could be compiled more easily for it and a team of coders could make it happen. The site itself is nearing completion. Just still juggling a lot of things in personal life so I'm doing it pieces at a time. After it is finished, I will be pooling a large group to test it and all of its fancy features.

Won't give away too much but here are some features coming on the new site:
-Character Sheets which automatically pull the race abilities from a database
-Chatbox Trivia Bots for when things get quiet
-Automated Point Buy System
-Unified Accounts based on one login with a drop down box which ties in to the registry and allows you to select which character you want to post as when you submit a post
-A prize counter which could result in real life prizes for anyone who's voted as the top poster

That's just a taster though. I've been working on this new site for over a month doing the code with a web editor and by hand with html5, javascript and css. Hope that answers some of your questions.

And I don't know about you but two whole clicks to switch a character seem like a lot of calories burned. I don't wanna have to burn any more of those than I have to.
