PostSubject: HERR DOKTOR Completed i guess   HERR DOKTOR Completed i guess EmptyThu Sep 19, 2013 1:51 pm

Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing?  If so how far have you gotten?  If not please direct your attention to YouTube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least.  Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga.  The anime is not canon.  This is not our opinion.  This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano.
The baby that was eaten in OVA 5 was my favorite character.

Name:
While his true name is Avondale Napyeer, that is quite a mouth full and difficult to pronounce, which is why everyone simply calls him Herr Doktor.

Age:
His birthdate is unknown, though he is at least eighty to ninety years old.

Gender:
Male, somewhat.

Physical appearance:
Dok is slender and almost fragile in appearance, very slim, tall (1,92m) and there`s not a lot of meat on his bones. His facial features are sharply angled and his whole skin is pale caucasian, his platinum blonde hair is cut short just at the jawline, perfectly parallel and straight- several times a day, he straightens it with hairspray so that it doesn`t get in the way and irritate him. He does not prosess vampire teeth or a long tongue, even though he has a habit of biting his finger and sometimes even drawing blood. He stuffs his fifth finger into the fourth hole of his gloves, for reasons unknown.. Dok has been castrated (Note the personality section) and possesses several operation scars on his chest, arms and legs. His eye color is grey.

Clothing of choice:
Dok dresses like a true Doktor: a long white coat with many pockets full of gadgetry and tools, paired with a pair of white gloves and a pair of glasses with half a dozen different lenses for various purposes- nearsight, farsight, ultra violet sight, protection from sparks, protection from lasers and so forth... without them, he is almost completely blind. His ribcage is covered by a sleeveless shirt, while his belly is naked and bare. Below that rests a pair of white pants, which end in the typical jackboots. He has no other attire, and so they are almost always stained and dirty.

Weaponry of choice:
While Dok is in no way a fighter and could never stand against most of the soldiers, he does get around this. As he never leaves the Deus Ex Machina anymore, he has installed dozens of gadgets and weapons into its interior and exterior, which he can access and manipulate with his remote control. This remote also controls the failsafe chips for the main members of Millennium, while the other soldiers have to be selected on the main screen before they can be destroyed. The gadgets include, for instance, the FlaK 88 cannons mounted inside the Zeppelin, the V1 cruise missles, pitfalls, sentry guns, steel shutters and doors and many more.
If worst comes to worst,  he can still use his secret weapon, as unreliable as it is- The Shi, his favorite subject of science, formerly known as Mina Harker and the only person who ever drank Alucard`s blood. While being bound and experimented on for nearly a century has turned Mina into a rotting corpse, Dok has not seen her body without the bandages for a whole decade, as he no longer needed her as reference material. However, he just assumes she`s alive and well, even though she`s not saying anything and not moving in the slightest.

Race:
Special Human

Abilities:
Dok has transformed his body into a crossbreed of human and vampire- he has extracted the genes that cease their bodies to age, spliced it into his own and removed the genes and hormones that usually turn the subject into a violent, super strong and super fast monster… this way he believed he would remain human while living long enough to see the fruits of his work.
Aside from that, he`s a brilliant scientist and universal genius with an IQ of 147, but has never held a weapon before, was always bad at sports and doesn´t even know what the word “Martial Arts” means.
He´s also a talented chef and a skilled gun technician, despite having a slight ballistaphobia as a side effect of the World War.

Organization:
Die Letzte Battallion, Millennium.

Personality:
As mad scientists go, Dok is the prime example of a fallen personality. He is, in every meaning of the word, insane, mad and completely devoid of reality. Not only is he suffering from multiple personality disorder, a workaholic, a blind believer in Major`s words, a sociopath and a cruel murderer in the name of science, he also possesses an unhealthly obsession with the occult, is next to romantically entranced by the perfect vampireisim found in Mina (while completely ignoring the rest of the woman) and vampires in general. He claims to be just as much of a lover for war as Major is, but in fact he simply uses war as an excuse for research, as since in wartime, the funds for science and technology always spike high. Dok is devoid of compassion and actually rejects having any kind of sexuality, to the point where he castrated himself to be truly and purely dedicated to his work, even when he is taking a woman apart with his scalpel. Of course, this doesn`t work practically- but it’s a psychological thing. He thinks that his manhood is responsible for his attraction, so he removed it.  He came up with the idea of his immortal body himself after realizing that soon, the time would come when his body would fail due to age, and he would die, his many projects and brainchilds being unfinished forever… that was the reason why he decided he needed to cease ageing. He doesn`t even like the subjects he creates, really. Schrödinger, Walter, Yureka, the Millennium army- he hates them all, as he believes they are ungrateful to the gift they`ve received- his work he`s done on them, that’s the subject of his admiration.
Finally, his disorder: to the unkeen observer, theres only one Dok. In truth, however, there are two- a ruthless scientist, constantly grinning, who will go to any lengths needed to find the answer to a question or problem he might have, and a frightened, fidgety man who isn`t quite sure why he´s doing what he´s doing. While one wants this insanity to go on forever until he reached the ultimate solution to the ultimate problem, the other just wants it all to end, as quickly but as gloriously as possible. The change between the two is fluid, and it can happen from one second to another.

Rank:
Head Scientist and second in command.

Biography:
There`s no real telling where Dok came from, when he was born or who his parents were. He ignores all questions asked about it and any records about it went into his possession, where they were destroyed instantly.
Born in Zürich in the 1920s, Dok was the child of Joseph Mengele and Sarah Maria Napyeer, a polish immigrant. Mengele disappeared shortly after, and Maria had to raise Avondale himself. In school, he was severely bullied for his origin- the Nazis were taking over just recently, but the idea of immigrants being fillthy and unnecessary was already deep in the minds of the people. As he found nothing else to take his mind off of the real world, Avondale began to study the man he recieved letters from occasionally- Mengele, a scientist, a doctor. Hmm. He supported several theories that were stomped on as utter insanity and nonsense before Hitler gained power... and now, he suddenly became an important man. A doctor. Not a fighter, not some musclebound idiot pushing around the weak, but a weak man with spectacles and a silly coat, doing things that were too complicated for others... in a way, Mengele soon became his idol. He joined the NSDAP to be allowed to sutdy, and after graduating from the university of Berlin, Avondale had the chance to meet Mengele in person.
He invited Avondale into Ausschwitz, where he showed his son some of the results of his experiments, as well as allowing him to partake in one as a spectator. This deeply disturbed, but also facinated Avondale... this man, with a tiny blade in hand, was.... a god, essentially. A flick of his wrist could end the life of that jew that was strapped into that chair. A twitch of his fingers could cause unbelieveable pain. Through his skilled hands, though, that jew could become something of greatness.

Shortly after he left the camp with an idea in his head, Sarah Maria Napyeer died in the gas chamber truck and was burned to ashes to be used as a resource for smoke grenades.

Archiving greatness- being something more than human, that was the idea that lingered in his head. There was a story he read when he was younger- Dracula. He knew the story was based on a romanian count that lived some sixhundred years ago that was said to be the inspiration for Dracula, and that the castle he lived in still existed... and through some research, he also found a "Professor Van Hellsing" who lived during the time Dracula took place.
Three strikes. Three hits.  That was no coincidence, he was sure of this.
At the same time, Operation Ahnenerbe was secretly initiated- a group of scientists were sent to Tibet to find a link of the Ayran race to the Atlantians. Bah, utter humbug.
Dok instead went to Romania by his own funds and with a group of occult enthusiasts, they went to Castle Bran- the home of Vlad the Impaler.
A menacing atmosphere hit them when they arrived, and it didn`t take them long to notice it came from the graveyard... what used to be a graveyard, at least.
By coincidence, or by ill fate, they noticed that one of the ancient graves was not covered in grass. In fact, nothing at all was growing on it, despite the wet soil. Something from below was keeping the grass from growing... after a short debate, they decided to dig down and look what could possibly be that monsterous... to find a dried up, mummified corpse of a person that looked far too well to be a simple human. It looked like the corpse had been dead for ten years, not for more than a hundred... and as one of the occultists had to find out, a drip of blood was enough to revive the corpse into a living being. Fortuneately, they armed themselves with wooden stakes before and as Mina was feeding on the first scientist, a second rammed the stake into her heart from behind, sustaining her movement into total paralysis. They bound and chained her up with everything money could buy, nailed her to a board, put her in a coffin, nailed the coffin shut and then chained it up as well before returning to Germany to show their findngs to the person in charge. That much is unknwon to the history books.

Historically, Dok first appeared after the failure of Operation Ahnenerbe in  the fall of 1939- he personally went up to the Fuhrer and said, if he wanted more than humans, Tibet was not the place to look, but Transylvania. He showed him hard evidence of the existence of vampires- a captured, drugged example of one, barely able to move or speak, but most definitely a superhuman being- Mina Harker.  Hitler was delighted to see some real results for once and immidiently gave Dok all the funds he would require to make more of them. Dok, as well as a team of the best and the brightest surgons, genetisists, occultists and other highly specialized authorities gathered around this living carcus in a facility in Warsaw, where they began work in 1940. Five months after the beginning, they were put under command of a “Major”- Dok, enraged about the sudden change of structure, stormed out of the lab and left everything behind to question this “Major” about his intentions… and came back with a smirk on his face, all of his doubts in the man washed away. A single conversation was enough to make him change his mind about him.
In 1944, the first prototype vampires, called Ghouls, were ready for deployment- they were years away from actually archiving artificial vampireisim, but the war was turning against their favor. They needed superhumans, now. The Major arrived in person to tell him this- two days before their deployment however, Walter C. Dornez and the vampire known as Alucard destroyed every single one, and wrecked their research laboratory. Major, Dok, the young subleutenant Rip van Winkle and Major`s bodyguard could barely make their escape, together with The Shi, as Dok began to call Mina. On their way out, they were caught by a band of soviet soldiers on their march to Berlin- they shot down the Major effortlessly before the Hauptmann could dispose of them. Majors orders, as given to him before, were clear- he must absolutly not die before Alucard was destroyed. However, this raised a definite problem- several key organs were hit, and the man was bleeding quite badly... in the end, on their journey to the airship Montania that would take them to safety, Dok had to remove multiple organs and disable some others to save his life, hand crafting some replacements out of engine parts and plastic bags. He would have to come up with a more permanent solution later...
They fled into the far corners of south America, to begin again from where they left off.
For the next decades, no one knew of Millenniums existence- it was around this time that Schrödinger was born- a thought experiment with no real conclusion turned reality, a further note to Dok`s madness as he took something that was not meant to exist and turned it into something that DID exist, but it was uncertain WHERE it existed.
To archive this, he took stem cells and genomes from more than fifty soldiers he deemed "ideal" though his growing insanity and spliced them together, before exposing the embryo to varying degrees of radiation and hazards- while keeping it alive at all costs. This went on for months, and the only supervision was a bulletproof glass window that allowed to peek into the chamber where poison gas, radiation, neurotoxins and more hazards were subjected to the baby. Was it alive? Was it dead? Maybe, it was both at the same time... as it was extracted from the chamber, it was hard to tell. But Schrödinger survived, expressing unbelieveable abilities and being virtually indestructible. Major referred to him as their most powerful weapon, Dok referred to him as an annoyance. Either way, they would find use of him yet.
In 1989, the first artificial vampires were finally ready, and Dok finally began to see the fruits of his hard labor. Rip van Winkle, a brazillian named Tubalcain Alhambra,  a bizarre, steroid driven gipsy named Zorin Blitz, the brothers Luke and Jan Valentine, who no one would recognize as brothers at first sight… they were the cornerstones of his work. They were finally ready- the thousand men they had assembled, they would be turned into vampires, all of them, one by one. Their bodies would return to be young, and stay that way forever…  the only question remaining was, where would that lead to?

Dok had no answer to that. In the past seven decades, his focus on solving complicated problems made him lose the ability to solve simple ones.

RP sample:
The ribcage was lifted, blood gushing from hundreds of spots- it would heal, that was not a matter of importance. However, the organ of his interest was right in front of him now- moving the lungs out of the way, he had clear access to it. A scalpel slipped into his hand, held by middle and ringfinger, dancing over the arteries and nerves of the heart, bringing the organ to a cease of its functions quickly. His clean, right hand removed it from the bleeding body of the man he was operating.
His assistant handed him the new organ, the heart of an adult lion, far bigger and more powerful… it was difficult to fit in, but  they would make room for it later.. his fingers brought up a needle with a thin thread, and it too began to dance. Up, down, up, down, in rhythm to a melody in his head- an old Wagner tune, he believed. As it was sown on, another assistant started the electroshock therapy to start it up.
Dok glanced at his specimen with a smile. “I hereby dub you- Richard Löwenherz, Hehehe…”

Sample 2:
They were argueing again, those two amateurs. Erwin and Franz, two of his coworkers- joined seven years ago, still haven´t learned a damn thing. Dok briefly cast a glance at each one, then at their science project- or an utter waste of resources, as he would`ve called it. Genetically engineered vampires- Pah. They tried that in the seventies. It didn`t work, or at least it wasn´t satisfactory. The increase in performance was minimal, while it took months to make even one of those "supersoldiers". This would be no exception- they were just really good at convincing Major.
"I told you, Franz, i did not leave it in ze chest cavity!" Erwin grumbled, throwing his hands up in frustration- he always looked like a pidgeon when he did that, Dok thought.
"Zen who did?! I didn´t use it all day! It was either you, or it was HIM!"
Franz´s dirty, bloodstained finger pointed at Dok, which slightly surprised him. Most people would be angered, enraged, furious when they were accused of such a simple mistake. Dok was simply disappointed that they were still bickering about such utter nonsense.
"Who do you zhink you are, and who do you zink you`re talking to?!" Dok answered him, crossing his arms. "I was making vampires before either of you were even born, and you want to accuse ME of zis, ja?! Learn your place, boy, zis isn´t YOUR laboratory. Besides, it is completely irrelevant if the scapel is indeed inside the body or if it rolled off the table. Your experiment will fail, and your heads will roll for zis."
"Zats not for you to decide, Avondale." Erwin responded, his eyebrow twitching.
"Oh, is it not? A doctors work is deciding between life and death, Erwin. Sieh zu und lerne~"
He picked out a spare scapel from his coat and brought it up, before bringing it down onto the exposed chest of the vampire woman... only to lightly widen his eyes when all he hit was Ervin´s hands, which were desperately protecting the skin beneath with his own.
He screamed out, his hands twitching, but refusing to open and let go.
"Hm.."
He took another look at the body. It was nothing special. Engineered to suit their sexual fantasies, muscular and fit, but otherwise uninteresting. Why was he trying so hard to protect it? What did he possibly hope to gain from just one single vampire?
Franz pushed Dok off and proceeded to help Erwin- the older scientist did not resist.
He finally got it. It was his work. He wanted to protect his work from being destroyed.... why didn´t he think of this sooner? Dok could sympathize with that, if he could at all.
"Heh, maybe zat boy did learn a few things from me either way."

Sample 3:
After getting some refreshments from the mensa, Dok returned to his laboratory to find... nothing. Löwenherz was gone, the shackles were undone and the specimen had escaped. It couldn´t be far, but... was the chip already active? Doubtful, the operation was not complete yet and they wouldn´t want to risk injuries if it set off on accident. So, it was likely the man was running amok in the zeppelin... no need to fret.
With a push of a button, the doors in the hallways around the laboratory were sealed, as well as the rooms themselves... A second push released hatches on the cieling, which made 13mm MG15 machine guns pop out, small cameras mounted near the barrels were searching for anything alive or dead to shoot at- if one of the soldiers would come across, that would be unfortuneate, but unavoidable. He himself though- he was not targeted. The remote gave off an impulse to the target camera that identified him as non hostile- a simple safeguard he also installed into the Major.
A little smirk appeared on his face as he picked up the neurotics shot he had prepared earlier. Flicking the needle once, he made sure that it would be ready to go, before he walked out, slowly and careful not to make too much noise... he wouldn´t want to disturb him...

As it turned out, Löwenherz wasn´t far... his heart was definitely a problem for him, as he was clutching his chest maybe twenty meters away from the door, growling and wheezing as it became difficult for him to breath. A disappointment... but it was likely. Vampireisim made chimeras possible, but most of the times the body parts were simply incompatible by design. So, without much hesitation, he approached him, ignoring the coughs and growls... he gripped the man by his hair, pulled him to his knees and injected his vein with the neurotics, which made him weak and slurp over... Dok then pulled him back into the lab by his arms, a task he didn´t think was going to be simple, but he actually had to stop and pause sometimes because the man was quite heavy.
"Tsk, so bothersome... you`d think he`d cease to cause trouble to me now, but nein...!"
Shaking his head, he brought him up onto the table again, using all of the strength he could muster as well as the techniques he learned as a doctor early on, before he picked out a fresh scalpel.
"Zat precious heart is vasted on you, stupid Dummkopf. I zhink it would be better to feed it to the troops, afterall..."

I prefer the Nazi eating the baby.

Couple things. His skin is more peach/pink than pale in the OVAs, like he's pealed from a sunburn. He only has five fingers, too, but stuffs his ring and pinky into the fourth hole on his gloves, because reasons.

Going to have to can Mina as a weapon. She is most assuredly dead.

Interesting take on the longevity. He's also a chef, though. Major comments on that in The Dawn.

Same thing about the fingers as in the appearance. Also want you to add his finger biting habit. Schizophrenia is actually a form of Multiple Personality Disorder as you've described it.

Still have to know his origins, even if he won't tell people in-character. Mina's dead, like before. Going to have to explain how he got her body, too.

Only thing I'd like is a bit more detail on how the catboy was made.

Not sure I can really find a combat sample in there.
