Outskirts of Rome

(From Hangar Bay)-------> Rip, Emmerich, Ausf, Morphine and Carsten and random pilot guy

"Alright, zhis ist far enough" Rip told the pilot "Our arrival vill arouse suspicion if ve land in zhe city und vho knows how many Iscariot vermin are crawling around. Land here" The pilot nodded "Jawohl Lieutenant" The pilot obeyed and brought the aircraft to a safe landing.

The Huntress disembarked once the aircraft touched soil. Dusting herself down, she looked around, surveying the area. Isolated. Quiet. Good. Emmerich emerged after changing from his Millenium uniform to a suit. "It will be a bit of a walk" he said, approaching Rip and handing her musket over. "Jaaa" she hummed, rolling her shoulders "but a nice valk never hurt anyone und my legs haf been aching for a stretch"

Rip turned back to face the group "Alright" she began "now...how shall ve do zhis?"

Ausf took a step from the vehicle, landing with a quiet, heavy pad, the helicopter raising on its suspension with the absence of the heavy load. He glanced around from the clearing in the forest to the dense trees and bushes. While on the airframe, He had pulled out a camouflage net for his armor, as well as camouflage pattern paint upon it. "Well, we could go near the edge of the forest bordering Rome. If the Iscariot truly crawl around as you say, we could wait and ambush a patrol, interrogate them, feed them false information about our identities, and then escape via the helicopter after knocking them out. Leaving them alive would be beneficial." His 5cm L/60 was upon his back, the barrel, mantlet, and breach painted and netted.

Morphine stepped off the helicopter that landed the small group in the surrounding area of the city of Rome, his combat boots touching down on the Earth. Immediately, the SS-Sturmscharführer glanced around to make sure that no one, civilian or Iscariot had seen the helicopter touch down. Upon noting the landing point was secure, the Sargent-major relaxed slightly before shifting his attention to his superior officer and the walking tank. "If ve vant to, ve could interrogate zhe patrol for zhe nearest small outpost to our possession und zhe name oft zhe outpost leader. Maybe kill zhe patrol once zhe information hast been extracted und steal zheir uniforms to blend in und find zhe commander for interrogation about more valuable information. If vhe create too much noise, zhey might send reinforcements."

And so he had a rather fruitful trip with the three, only one of which he acknowledged as his superior officer, the other his equal in rank, and the last but not the least, was the Panzer guy who looks suspiciously effeminate that for the life of him Carsten can't make up his mind if Ausf is a boy or a girl. It's confusing and awkward, sorta like Schrodinger, except at least Schrodinger had the decency of wearing a male's Hitlerjugend uniform. That much he could tell. Carsten decided to don something that linked him less to Millennium, but naturally just as camouflaged in the case of a long coat, a long sleeved shirt, some several holsters underneath his long coat, hiding his FG-42 as well as cargo pants and some combat boots, as well as leather gloves for a lack of prints, shades, and a Trilby hat. All dark blue to reflect the appropriate darkness. Stepping right behind Ausf outside the aerial vehicle he inhabited briefly, as he spread out from the formation, looking around and surveying the area all around, making spontaneous motions with his feet around the clearing as his feet ruffle on the grassy soil, he huffed out at the familiar yet vastly different sight of the area with an inquisitive eye. He stands next to Ausf, albeit spaced a few feet from his like right behind him, and also spaced likewise from the aerial vehicle they came in from.

"Indeed, Iscariot has quite the tight security around Rome if my information isn't out of date." Carsten said from experience, rubbing his chin with his gloved hand as he peered at his peers, "Do we really have to interrogate these men? I thought you vampires were able to suck out the information directly from their blood, beating the need to even be fed their information. If that isn't true as I thought, I am all for the Panzerhund's plan of capturing a wayward Iscariot soldier, and for the Sturmscharführer's plan of attaining a disguise."

The Huntress gave a sigh. To complete any significant reconnaissance they would have to venture close to the enemy. However it seemed the majority of the group was in favour of picking off someone on the outside. She wondered how much information of worthy value on the workings of Iscariot a patrol officer could possess.

"Zhe vay on how ve extract zhe information is not zhe issue at zhe moment" she said "Vhat matters ist how ve go about on catching one of zhem" She paced, considering each of their suggestions. "Alright" she said finally. "Ve capture und interrogate a patrol officer und if zhat goes vell ve can dig a little deeper vith zhere uniforms as disguise" Rip drummed her fingers upon her musket. "I von't say it von't be risky zhough...zhe further in ve go zhe harder it may be to get back here und escape"

"Disguise would work well in that case" Emmerich added "if Iscariot is alerted to our intrusion then at least it could mislead them. Some of us could go undercover as them and even blend in amongst civilians if things get out of control" he said, pointing over at the truck in the aircraft "There's some clothing in their if any of you wish to bring along anything inconspicuous" The Huntress nodded "Vell zhen, how does everyone feel vith zhis?"

Ausf listened to his superior's plans with at least a majority of his focus, playing out the scenario in his mind, however, he ran across a problem. A rather obvious one, to the point he couldn't comprehend how none of his superior officers had thought of it as he crossed his arms. "...How many of you speak fluent, unaccented Italian, if I might ask? Also, what about those within Iscariot who utilize faith to locate the undead? Would that not get two of us discovered instantly, and the other two attacked for being with them?" His eyes narrowed slightly.

"While hiding amongst civilians would work, it would only be a matter of less than an hour before some of us would be detected by the aforementioned method. If we're lucky, we'll get a person with a considerable amount of knowledge to interrogate. At worst, we get plans of their future patrols. However, if we kill someone, any and all information we have received will have a high possibility of becoming invalidated due to their realization that something has captured a patrol. To then act upon those plans we have received could be suicide, as they could counter it far easier, this being their home territory. If we were to find a way to instill amnesia, then this would be a lot simpler."

"Zhat tone und look makes you seem hochnäsig. Von, zhey Iscariot haft plenty oft different ethnicities in zheir ranks so accents von't be too surprising to anyvon. Zhe second ist vhile it ist true zhat two oft us are undead, you und Ich am not. Ve could use zhat to un advantage, though by all means, Ich am open to any alternatives und suggestions." The SS-Sturmscharführer retorted, a hint of aggravation in his tone. If he didn't know better, he'd say that the cyborg was even trying to make his superiors look like idiots. Deciding to let it slide for the time being for the sake of the mission and collaboration, Morphine took what the tank mentioned into consideration. "It vouldn't take much effort for me to mix un few anemic injections up. Ift you haft any ideas how ve should proceed, zhen by all means speak."

A snicker almost escaped out of Carsten's mouth as he felt like the whole deal was juvenile from a man who should be by all means mature, instead seems too defensive to actually consider the fact they have a mission at hand. Internally, Carsten felt himself more inclined to agree with the cyborg shouta man-thing. Still, he decided to quip with a raised hand at the prompt of Italian coming into mind for inquisitive purview of questioning. "I can speak fluent Italian." He said simply, before continuing with a manic grin, "Why don't we merely murder a few Iscariot, and call it a day? Murder and mayhem is always fun, especially against my former brother in arms so blinded by their delusions. Regardless, I doubt rampant murder would serve us well when evidently all of you have other designs in mind." Looking to Morphine, he sighs, "Remember Nassbirne Emil, words you subscribe to everyday -- Beruhig deine Mamille. Argue not with the Panzermann, we have the same goal, do we not? Ultimately I think it best that we hear what he has to say... well, elaborate on the matter. Clearly he has a better grasp on the situation." And Carsten smiled, to all of the parties present, seemingly disinterested in whatever petty squabbles that'd take part with all the party members, as he remained reserved. Still, what annoyed him most was their insistence on those ridiculous accents that he knew for a fact Germans don't speak in such a manner, it was a contorting parody he couldn't help but keep himself from laughing at. It was stereotypical, and grating to his ears as it yammered on with the yonder force of a screech dire werebeast.

Rip and Emmerich shot each other a look and rolled their eyes in perfect unison as the tension between Morphine and Carsten suddenly spiked. "Lieutenant...I'm no psychic but things are going to become much more difficult if they start exchanging words..." Emmerich said "it's your call, what are our orders?"

Rip nodded. She had lost count on how many months had passed since her last mission an it would be a cold day in Hell before she would allow herself, or have anyone in her group, to screw it up.

"I enjoy a good battle as much as zhe next Millenium officer..." The Huntress said with a stern tone "...however zhat ist not our objective today. Ve are to obtain information und report our findings back to zhe Major, und believe me, he does not like to be kept vaiting und I vould like to return in one piece...as I am sure zhe rest of you do?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and throwing each of them a glance. "Ve are going to interrogate any Iscariot personnel ve find, I do not care vho any more" she said "Sturmscharführer Carsten shall do zhe questioning, Sturmscharführer Morphine shall provide further persuasion to our captive if needed, PanzerSchütze Ausf keep look out und take action if necessary und Private Emmerich vill take record of vhatever information ve gain" She adjusted her glasses "If ve must ve shall silence und dispose of zhem thoroughly und if it ist safe enough to infiltrate further zhen Emmerich und I shall head into Rome" The Huntress gave an irritated sigh. "Now...any questions?"

(Sorry for the wait, things have been a bit busy on my end)

Ausf nodded along, as each plan was presented, his gaze mostly focusing on Carsten. When Rip gave the final statement for the decided course of action, is gaze flickered over to her. "Affirmative, Ma'am. Where would you like me to take up my overeatch position?" He was decently satisfied with the plan, at least. No stuipd suicide rushes today. "Would I be correct to assume we'll camoflague the helicopter and keep it nearby?"

There wasn't much more that Morphine could say. The huntress had given her orders and there was no more time to waste upon the subject. Orders are orders. No exceptions. The eyes of the SS-Sturmscharführer hardened slightly, a more animal-like instinct coming over them. The madman cracked his jaw slightly, standing straight. "As you vish Frau Winkle."

Supposedly everything happened within the span of a few moments that Carsten seemed to be taking in stride with an easy going demeanor, smiling all the while. He was soft and welcoming in fact, when Ausf viewed him, he peered back with a disarming look of innocence about him, addressing the PanzerSchuetze with a tone of casual interaction. "Hrm... perhaps I was wrong about you. You're far more cunning than you appear, despite your otherwise childish looks. An evil mastermind behind that naive facade of yours. Try not to conquer the world while we're not looking, alright? At least not without inviting me first." Carsten inclines his head, and thus far, attention, towards Rip Van Winkle with an expression of amicable easiness about it, nodding with a quick salute, "Understood, Obersturmführer Van Winkle. May the Valkyries grant you the aim to always strike true, and best of fortunes on your escapade to Rome, should you venture without the three of us, not that I doubt your skills or anything."

"Ja, do vhatever you must to keep our only means of escape safe und position yourself vherever you think ist best" she replied to the cyborg. "It vas a mistake not to survey zhe area before arriving but..." she shrugged "zhere ist nothing ve can do about zhat now except be vigilant"

They had no idea how close any patrol stations were situated and cutting through an unknown forest was out of the question. Without sufficient knowledge on the area they could possibly walk straight into the enemy's path or wind up completely lost in unfamiliar territory. Kicking things off was going to be harder than she thought.

"Ve vill need to scope out zhe area first" she decided and turned back to the cyborg. "Ausf, I do not know zhe extent of your cyborg abilities but do you haf anyvay of scanning large areas?"

"We are about 5 miles out of Rome" Emmerich said "if we are to encounter anyone worth questioning we are going to have to get closer to the city" The Huntress grumbled "Very vell, let's get zhe helicopter out of sight und get moving"

"No promises, Sir." Ausf flashed the brown-haired man a smile, before turning his attention to the Lieutenant, sighing. "All I have is short-range thermals, and long range regular sighting, though I too believe we may have to get a little closer to Rome... There is a camouflage kit in the storage of the Helicopter, I'll put that on shortly. Would there happen to be any hills outside Rome where I could sit somewhat behind and above the group? It'd make for more effective shots with this." The cyborg patted the breach of his cannon over his shoulder, thinking for a moment. "I've got an artillery version of a larger caliber stowed in the helicopter. Would you prefer this autocannon, or a single-shot high explosive weapon?"

(Since Morphine isn't posting yet, and this is going to be in short order, I'll take the liberty of commencing with my objectives.)

Little did everyone know, that Carsten had his uniform in fact conveniently inside his coat for a VERY convenient withdrawal and to wear it within prompt notice, actually crammed inside the pocket, which bulges it out and makes him look rather awkward for it. Saluting Rip Van Winkle quickly, as discipline demands, and then nodding to Ausf, and afterwards, to Emel, he would proceed to go onward, running in a full time sprint past all the intended party, well, more like wheel around them by taking a circumference around the bulk of the group, circling, onwards past the grassy fields and to the city. Keeping his sprint reasonably human as he knows himself not to suffer the same afflictions as the cursed comrades in Millennium, for he is a Lycanthrope. If his memories served correctly about the antiquated Iscariot, and given the fact he had shaved off his facial hair, he should be relatively unknown unless someone can recollect information about him immediately besides just another one of those turncoats in Iscariot. There were many, and that number gives him a measure of anonymity. He knew the approximate layout of Rome, not only out of past experience, even though things have changed, but also revision on the newest additions to the city itself. And with that, he skirted past the trees, steering clear of them as he headed onwards, to capture an Iscariot person, or some other vague nonsense the mission objectives provided for... well... something. Honestly, why couldn't they just rely on intelligence through some turncoats instead of doing so with field legwork? Outsource intelligence from the many Millennium contacts around the world even, they had access to them after all.

EXIT ----> Out of the outskirts

"I am not familiar vith zhe area so if zhere are any hills around I vould not know" Rip answered the cyborg. "Stick vith zhe autocannon, your aim ist good und vith any luck ve should not haf to resort to high explosive veapons" Rip continued, loading her own weapon "but if possible, have it ready at zhe helicopter at least, vho knows if ve might need it und ve--" The Huntress felt something rush past her, almost knocking Emmerich off his feet. She spun around to witness Carsten sprinting off into the distance. "Sturmscharführer! Just vhat are you do---" Carsten was already well out of sight and to shout in such an open area would be unwise.

"I guess he's decided to take the subtle approach, Lieutenant" Emmerich said, his comment dripping with sarcasm. "If he zhinks ve are vaiting around for him if zhings get out of hand zhen he ist sorely mistaken" she snapped, frustration bubbled within her like a witches cauldron. They had wasted so much time, they were unorganised and now some were choosing to (literally) run off and take on objectives of their own. "Alright...let's just get on vith zhis."

Ausf raised an eyebrow at the takeoff of Carsten, but shrugged, sighed, and rotated the microphone on his helmet down. "Radio communications check. Who's carrying one?" He'd get an affirmative ping from the helicopter crew, then silence as he waited ti see if anyone else, including hopefully Carsten, as he'd run off, though appeared to be pretty mobile, so he could use him as a scout if it came to that, had a radio.

As he waited, he walked over to the heli, pulled out the camouflage net, and promptly threw it over the airframe, covering it. At least it'd be safe from arial scouting. After that, he took a glance around, looking for where the landscape sloped, then turning back to the remaining group. "There's a position about eighty meters behind the transport that I could take up. It'll allow me sight on you until you enter Rome itself. That way, I'll be able to make sure nobody stumbles upon the helicopter... Shall I take this position, Lieutenant?" Plus, in case they withdrew, he'd be close enough that he could actually get to the helicopter, seeing as he couldn't likely reliably jog in this terrain.

The other said nothing, only watching Carsten bolt off towards the city. A aggravated grunt left the Sturmscharführer, glancing back at the city. He calmly pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his overcoat, lighting one of them once it was between his lips. So much for this going off relaxed. Morphine let out a soft puff of smoke before pulling a small map out of his overcoat. "Ich vould assume zhat zhe Iscariot's vould have posts near by places oft historical significance or some oft zhe vell known cathedrals in zhe city. Perhaps it could be un start, Fraüline Winkle?"

The Major sat in his command chair back on the Deus Ex Machina, sipping a glass of Chardenay. It had been a while since he sent out his last batch of orders to his subordinates, and Hellsing was finally beginning to make movements throughout England. He became curious as to why they had become active for the first time in a long while. Zhis ist a curious development. Und I know just zhe person to check it out. The Major looked over to his communications officer. "Franz, radio Frau Vinkle and tell her to leave zhe Vatican for zhe time being and investigate vhat Hellsingk is up to, specifically around jolly old London." Franz sent the orders almost immediately, hoping for them to be carried out as soon as possible. The Major took another sip of his Chardenay. "Somethingk tells me zhat zhis vorld ist about to become interestingk once more."

(Hey, really, reeeeeaaally soory for the lack of activity. I just started a course 3 days ago and preparing for it was a bit hectic)


"Lieutanant!" the pilot called urgently "Ve haf recieved a message from zhe Major!"
Emmerich gave Rip a perplexed look as the two headed to the aircraft "What does he want? We only just arrived here" The Huntress simply shrugged and sighed.

"Vhat ist zhe message?" Rip asked. "Zhe major vishes for us to postpone zhe mission here und instead head over to London und investigate zhe Hellsing organization's actions" the pilot said. "Ist zhat all?" the Huntress asked, the pilot nodded "Ja, zhere vasn't any specific details or instructions." Rip hummed in response. "Hellsing must be on the move" Emmerich commented. Rip grinned. It had been quite some time since her last visit to London. Travel was a torment, but a chance to rain Hell upon Hellsing was too good to pass up. Rip turned and waved to Morphine and Ausf, calling them over.

Morphine glanced to the side after catching Rip van Winkle motion to him and the rest of the squad, giving a nod before returning to the lieutenant. Saluting once the distance was closed, the madman adjusted his equipment. "Ich take it zhat ve haft been re-tasked?"

Having already been standing next to the helicopter, the cyborg turned around, taking care not to dig a hole with his heel and get stuck. "No details whatsoever? That's interesting..."

"Ja" The Huntress answered "zhe Major vants us to head over to London for reasons I do not know. But my guesses are zhis mission has something to do vith Hellsing. Are zhe two of you prepared for zhat?" she asked, adjusting her glasses as the pilot readied the aircraft.
