Walter Dornez Empty
PostSubject: Walter Dornez   Walter Dornez EmptyMon Sep 05, 2011 1:25 am

Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing? If so how far have you gotten? If not please direct your attention to youtube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least. Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga. The anime is not canon. This is not our opinion. This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano. All.

Name: Walter C. Dornez, also known as The Angel of Death.

Age: 73.

Gender: He’s a man. One that cares about his family. One might even say, a “Family Man”.

Physical appearance: Walter Dornez is a well figured man; skinny, yet with a touch of muscle. His body has many wrinkles from his old age, though he is still quite active, despite this. His nose is quite large and a bit angular, his itself displaying kindness and wisdom from all his years as faithful butler to the Hellsing family (along with a pointed chin). His dark hair is slicked and pulled back into a messy ponytail that sticks up at the base of his neck, which is beginning to gray slightly.

Clothing of choice: Walter always dresses like his namesake- a butler. A white dress shirt and dark gray vest are the highlights of his attire, as well as a black tie. Light gray pants and black shoes on bottom, with white dress gloves on his hands. On his forearms are two gold bands. He wears a monocle over his right eye, the chain actually pierced into his ear. During a battle, Walter wears thicker black leather gloves for extra protection of his own hands.

Weaponry of choice: Walter only has (and needs) one weapon, which he wields with deadly precision; diamond nano-wires. These nearly invisible wires are nearly indestructible (being made of diamond), and also incredibly dangerous. By wrapping the wires around a target, Walter can pull on them while attached to each finger tip on his gloves to cleanly sheer through the enemy. They are strong enough to easily tear through wood, metal, and nearly every other substance that has been encountered so far without breaking. On the off chance they should happen to break, Walter always has a few extra spools of them in his pockets.
Aside from their cutting abilities, Walter has been shown to be skilled enough to improvise many uses with his wires. One such use is for supporting items. After wrapping a person with the wires, instead of pulling to slice through them, Walter simply supports them as a sort of net. This can be used to lower a person inside of a building or to catch someone who is falling. The same concept can also be used for capturing projectile weapons, as Walter can wrap the wires around, say, a missile and either turn it on the owner or cause it to explode in mid-air. Another use is to create a sort of shield around himself or another, usually Sir Integra. By crossing the wires multiple times, he creates a sort of mesh field around his target, blocking most types of ammunition.

Race: Human.

Abilities: As stated above, Walter is extremely adept at using his nano-wires in combat, so much so that he can weave them through tiny holes with extreme precision or rip through multiple targets at once. Adding to his dangerous amount of skill with his wires is his immense strength, rivaling some supernatural creatures, the same with his speed and agility. While he was even more powerful in these areas when he was younger, he is still quite adept in his physical skills in his old age. He also has a great degree of survival skills from his days in the British Special Forces.

Perhaps even more dangerous than his body is his mind. Walter is extremely intelligent, having designed the entire Hellsing security system in its modern form himself. He is also effectively second in command, taking care of the mansion and other duties when Sir Integra is out. He also has extreme skill in weapon making, having crafted his wires himself, Alucard’s Cassul and Jackal guns, Seras’ Harkonnen, and many others.

As a butler, Walter would be nothing without his butler skills. These include such things as cleaning, cooking, balancing trays, brewing tea, chauffeuring, supplying his employer with cigars and lighters when needed, etc. He is also the grounds keeper of the Hellsing mansion, making sure the flowers are well watered and the grounds aren’t destroyed on a regular basis. As well as his role as butler, Walter takes up the mantle of personal bodyguard for Sir Integra. Almost constantly by her side, Walter will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even sacrificing his life.

Organization: Hellsing.

Personality: Walter is a kind and caring man, making sure everyone in the mansion has all of their needs met. He even goes out of his way for people if they desire an exotic food or specific type of bedding arrangement. He enjoys the company of those in his care and will try to stay on good terms with everyone in the mansion. His closest companion though is Sire Integra, whom he’d raised since she was a child, taking over as a paternal figure after her father had died. He will try to help her in any way he can.

Underneath his kind and grandfatherly exterior lies a man of pure ruthlessness. When someone threatens his extended family, he will stop at nothing until they are completely eliminated, nothing more than a stain in the carpet of the Hellsing mansion that he will later clean up. This also shows through in his sense of humor; quite dark and sardonic, with a hint of sadism thrown in. In his younger years he was a smoker, though he appears the have quit.

Rank: Butler and bodyguard for Sir Integra Hellsing.

Biography: Walter never got a chance at a normal childhood, nor normal parents. A few months after he was born, he was abducted by the British government for a project at creating super soldiers. From the time he could walk, Walter was trained to kill. After years of fighting and being forced to kill other candidates for the project, some being boys much older than himself, he was awarded the same kind of wires he uses today. After three years of practice, he finally managed to use them efficiently in combat.

He was first put on missions to hunt down AWOL soldiers or enemies of the government, but was eventually moved up to the undead. He eventually became a cold and efficient killer, having no problem at all with taking a life, despite being only a boy. His biggest mission was during World War II, when he and the Hellsing family’s pet vampire, Alucard, were sent into Warsaw, Poland to eliminate a group of Nazi scientists rumored to be doing experiments involving the undead. It turned out their intelligence was spot on, and hordes of the undead and Nazi soldiers were waiting for them. They had failed at creating vampires, but Ghouls were a good start.

During the battle, a Lycan captain of the Nazis managed to subdue Walter and take him to their facility. As the Hellsing vampire was quickly destroying everything, the doctor had no time to fully experiment on the boy, but was able to implant a mind altering chip into his nervous system, slowly overtaking his thoughts and actions until he was completely under the Nazis control. After this, he was dumped outside to wake up. The duo eventually destroyed the entire facility, the actions taken being completely unknown to either of them.

Several years passed and Walter kept improving. His skills became more and more refined, using his wires as more of an art than a fighting style. He didn’t see much of the Hellsing again for a while, until he was alerted that he would be taking over as butler and bodyguard to the Hellsing family head. While not particularly excited about this, he relented, and was trained in all things necessary for the job. He was also taught to make his own wires and other weapons, as that would more than likely be asked of him by the Hellsings.

His first day was as a man in his 30’s, being run ragged by all the demands made of him. Initially finding contempt for his task master of an employer, he began to grow used to his new life as a butler. He even grew closer to Arthur Hellsing, realizing how much trust the man put into him. He also enjoyed taking care of his young daughter, Integra, and would wait on her for anything she desired. He was beginning to doubt himself, the chip finally kicking in. This culminated at the death of Arthur, whose father-like presence had helped him control his thoughts. Overhearing his brother, Richard Hellsing, plot to assassinate Integra, he had the thought he would enjoy a trip to the countryside for a few days. He packed his things and left for three days, leaving Richard in charge, all the while regretting his decision.

Returning home, Walter was relieved to see the little girl alive; the creature that followed her, not so much. It may have changed appearance, but he remembered the monster Alucard was from all those years ago. He took the vampire aside and threatened to kill him if he were to harm Integra, to which he gave his word that a servant would never harm his master. Over time, he began to trust him as well, putting his faith in Alucard to be able to protect Integra if something were to ever impede him from doing so.

As the Hellsing mansion began to fill, Walter found himself increasingly busy. He never complained, as he genuinely enjoyed taking care of all the people that had begun living with them. He still struggled to contain his thoughts and urges of things like killing Sir Integra and Alucard, but managed to find refuge in his work. He began to become genuinely happy with the way things were, and promised himself he would do all he could to keep his peaceful existence the same.

RP sample:

Part 1

As Walter returned home from running errands, he was greeted by one of the many people living at the mansion, to which he gave a wave and friendly smile. Walking up the stairs, he knocked twice on the large oak doors that led to his employer’s office. He was told to enter, to which he did. ”Good morning, Sir Integra. I am pleased to report that the mail has been sent out, the groceries ordered, your meetings arranged, and the blood shipped to us. Would you like some tea? I just brewed some.”

”Please. Two sugars and some milk.”

”Right away.” Walter exited the office, returning shortly after with a silver tea tray, a pot, cup, and accessories sitting on top. He poured the tea, adding sugar and milk as instructed. Putting a small spoon in the cup and placing it on a saucer, he sat it on Sir Integra’s desk a few inches to her right.

Taking a sip after stirring, Integra placed the cup down again. “Splendid work, as usual. I would like you to alert the new trainees that they will be put through some training today. Remind them that it will be unlike anything they’ve experienced before, and that anyone not man enough for the job should leave the premises at once.”

”As you wish, Sir Integra,” Walter responded, bowing slightly and walking out of the office. He continued to the courtyard where several new Wild Geese members were waiting, giving them the news of their training from hell yet to come.

Part 2

It seemed like the Geese hadn’t been enough for this situation, and with most of the vampires sent out already on other missions, Walter was on the front lines once again. Cracking his neck as he stared down an army of Ghouls, he flicked his wrists, the wires attached to his fingers glinting in the moonlight for a few moments. With a wave of his hand, the army halted in their advance, collapsing into piles of blood and body parts seconds later. ”Back in my day, these used to be much more of a challenge. What happened to vampires in the last few years?” He sauntered along, trying to find ways to entertain himself with the monsters at hand; he tried cutting them to pieces starting at the head, shaving a bit more off every time, but soon that grew tiring. He tried taking a limb off at a time, but that became boring.

Eventually, after seeing the panicked vampire watch his army decimated, Walter rushed towards him, tearing apart Ghouls as he went. The vampire drew a gun, but he found his arm hitting the ground in a few pieces before he was able to pull the trigger. As he tried to run, he felt his legs fall out from beneath him- he then noticed he no longer had legs at all. He felt something thin and sharp tighten around his throat, blood dripping slowly. ”Now, anything you’d like to say before you die?” he asked, a reflection shining off his monocle, the only visible feature on his shadowed face. Screams for forgiveness echoed through the village before a spurt of blood flowed from the stump where the vampire’s head had been. The approaching Ghouls dissolved into puddles of blood as their master was destroyed. Well, that was boring. I suppose I should return to the mansion now. With that thought in mind, Walter retracted his wires and began walking home.

Late, so I only did two. More than 3 paragraphs though, and gives you what you need.

Hopefully my invented history is well received. Eventually he’ll switch over to Millennium, not sure if he’ll die then or not.

I kind of like the idea of him being an orphan better, but that works too.
