Death: After being possessed by his original vampire master during training to use the souls in his body as familiars, Tod fought his friend Jay, who eventually stabbed him in the heart with his arm. He died after regaining his senses and giving a motivational speech.

This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano. Seen OVA 1-7, read volumes 1-8, know the ending, and seen bits and pieces of Dawn.
Name: The Man (semi-famous title acquired while roaming, though recently come into much disuse), Todhändler (Death Dealer)
Age: Unknown (Stopped counting after 150 but knows he isn't older than mid to high 200’s.)
Gender: Male
Physical appearance: Tall and skinny, Tod is a sickly looking individual with pale skin and dark bags under his eyes. He sports short, black hair, slightly spiky in an unkempt style, and long, claw-like nails. He has black, dead looking eyes when not in combat, but red, glowing, vampiric eyes when fighting. He has a sort of “plain” face, no real identifiable markings or imperfections. He has thin lips over a set of bright white teeth with exceptionally long and sharp canines.
After reaching a higher state of vampirism, his eyes have turned permanently red.
Clothing of choice: Tod signature outfit consists of a black coat over a sleeveless white shirt with a high collar, broken in black leather pants with a white belt and cartoony skull buckle. Red and black riding boots with metal treads and black block style sunglasses to hide his eyes from the sun or onlookers, plus a wide brimmed black hat. Not part of his attire is a pair of white gloves.
After becoming more powerful and not needing to hide from the sun, he drops his hat and glasses, mainly because they would either be lost of destroyed in nearly every fight. He has also chosen to wear a blazer-like jacket instead of his old leather coat. Instead of a sleeveless white shirt, he now dons a red V-neck. On his wrists and hands are two steel gauntlets. He also wear slightly baggy black dress pants. Completing his more formal attire are two healed dress shoes, also having the metal treads like his old ones.
Weaponry of choice: Tod’s favorite weapon is his katana, which he got on his journeys after leaving his home as a vampire. A secondary weapon he acquired after joining the Hellsing Organization for some time is 10 silver tipped push knives, which he's quite proficient at throwing after much practice. He isn't much of a fan of guns, as he considers them too loud and a pain to reload.
After the war with the Knights of the Damned, Tod's original sword was broken. Returning home, he had it reforged and remade, using the metal from the old blade to construct a longer katana, closer in size to a nodachi. The handle is a longer length as well, and the guard is now shaped like a pentagram.
Race: Vampire, category B. (formerly category C.)
Abilities: Regeneration may take a medium amount of time for major damage (i.e.: 10 posts), medium supernatural strength, agility, stamina, durability, and reflexes, medium weakness to silver and blessed weaponry, teleportation, able to absorb memories, still killable through massive damage (conventional or otherwise), to turn virgins into vampires, non-virgins into durable but fairly weak ghouls, the need to drink blood once in a week, mild weakness to sunlight (they get irritated by sunlight).
Regeneration may take short time for major damage (ie: 5 posts), large supernatural strength, agility, stamina, durability, and reflexes, can summon familiars, absorb memories, hypnotize those of low will power, low weakness to silver and blessed weaponry, susceptible to decapitation or stake to the heart (at this point, thats the most effective way to kill them but other severely damaging methods would work, conventional as well), teleportation, ability to turn virgins into vampires, the need to drink blood once every two weeks. Also, can tell people apart by scent (ability acquired as a human, even more refined as a vampire). He lost his German accent over the years, but can still recreate it when need be.
Organization: Hellsing
Personality: Tod is a very bored person, most of what he does seeking to entertain him. This may have him come off as friendly, since he will often interact with others, but this is all on a whim, doing whatever he thinks would be most fun. He has a streak of acting socially awkward when around others, such as sniffing people to get their scent, being unable to tell a person’s gender at a glance and will resort to *cough* ulterior methods to find out, chasing small animals to try and pet them, talking to himself regularly, walking on all fours for no reason, chewing on things when bored, etc.
If Tod were hit by something that isn’t too powerful, he usually just shrugs it off, mainly because he doesn’t care (a bullet in the arm, a bottle broken over his head, that sort of thing). He will usually get excited when someone actually hurts him, looking forward to the intense battle. He also enjoys traveling, something he picked up over his years as a vagabond. If someone is in a position of command, he will respect them and follow their orders, as well as addressing them with an appropriately respectful title (Sir, Ma’am, Miss, Captain, etc.) He also has a serious side, usually hidden behind his forged air of innocence and silliness. It usually isn't seen, though, unless the situation calls for it. He is actually quite wise despite his low intelligence, due to being alive for over a century.
Since his employment in Hellsing, Tod has grown as a person, being much more socially apt and having less trouble fitting in with others. He has matured some, not as prone to irrational actions and has gained a better sense of gender differentiation. He is still quite silly, but can be serious by choice instead of having to have it triggered randomly by the situation. He is also less bored, finally coming to terms with himself and being able to take joy in the simple aspects of life.

Biography: (He's done more, obviously, but this is all that's really that notable.)
A German boy turned vampire at the age of 19. After managing to kill his sire and drink her blood, he traveled around the world, looking for a purpose now that everything he once held dear was destroyed. He was traumatized during his time as a fledgling, as his master would torture him in many different ways to try and goad him on to becoming stronger, leading to his great hatred and eventual murder of her. He has come to terms with it mostly, but will still become a bit on edge and tense when he sees something reminding him of the experience (someone defenseless being brutally beaten is what would set him off most easily).
While in Japan, he was taken in by an elderly blacksmithing couple after being attacked by a pack of wolves and almost killed. Eventually recovering, the family makes him his sword after fending off another attack by the same wolf pack to protect them. Two years later, a group of wolves (led by a Werewolf cub in wolf form) run rampant in his part of the country. Having gained much strength during the time gap, he easily decimates any that have the misfortune of coming into his general area. After a long battle between himself and the Werewolf, he returns to the couple’s house, only to discover they were killed in the attack. He then brakes down, causing even more damage to his fragile psyche. He then drinks their blood and moves on. Deciding he has nothing left for him, he continually walks the earth trying to fulfill his goal.
After coming to London from Greece, Tod happened upon the Hellsing Organization mansion. Managing to get into the building, he interviewed and was given a job hunting other vampires, although no major authority given his somewhat immature nature. Despite not being very serious, he is quite good at his job, taking out most of his targets quickly and efficiently.

Part 1:
Scratching his head after a long nap, Tod walked out of his room and into the hallway leading from the dungeon rooms of the vampires to the upstairs of the mansion. Climbing the steps, he exited the stony cave of a basement his home had and into the lavished halls of the Hellsing mansion. He opened a nearby window and put his foot on the sill. It was a dark and moonless night, more fun for him. Let’s see…where should I go tonight?
Part 2:
Tod leaped from his position on the floor and onto the wall behind him, only to spring back through the air once again. He landed behind an approaching ghoul and swiftly cut its torso in half. Using the momentum from his last strike, he spun full circle to cut through another one. Pulling a knife from his sleeve, he threw it toward another, piercing its head deep, burning through as it did. “This is disappointing; I’d hoped you guys could have done a little better.” After saying that, he spotted the lead vampire in the crowd. Jumping over top the ghouls (occasionally on their heads) he ran nearer to him. Only a few yards apart, he pulled another knife from his sleeve and tossed it at the vampire’s right arm as he reached for a pistol. In the time it took the vampire to rip the knife from his arm and aim, Tod had already closed the small gap between them and beheaded him.
Part 3: (He's just come from Greece in this one, not in Hellsing yet)
Two repo men were talking on a street corner in London, discussing various aspects of their days with one another. “…so anyway, I told the guy, ‘hey, it’s not my problem that you can’t pay your bills on time.’” Just then, a strange man clothed in black interrupted the two men, putting his hand on one of their shoulders and turning them around.
“S’cuse me, do you people know where the nearest blood bank is? I need some…well, blood.” Tod’s request obviously took the men by surprise, as not many people walk around asking strangers for blood. After a brief pause, one man pointed southerly.
“Um, I think it’s that way...What exactly do you plan to do with the blood…? If you don’t mind my asking that is.”
Tod hesitated for a second. He wasn’t the fastest car on the road, that’s for sure, but he had enough sense to know he couldn’t go around announcing he wanted to chug a couple blood packets. “It's uh…for…my grandma. Yeah, she’s just had surgery and the doctors say she needs blood for a while.”
Still a bit suspicious but not wanting to make a scene out of something this trivial, the two men left Tod to his errand. He walked off in the direction he had been pointed, happy to have a snack ready for himself.
